Ryan Carl is a New York based graphic designer and art director specializing in branding, typography and visual storytelling. His approach is rooted in simplicity, color, form and space. For over 20 years Ryan has partnered with creative individuals, brands, and organizations in the arts, publishing, nonprofit, technology, and commerce to create thoughtful, lasting design and creative work.

Whether developing identities, images, campaigns, or digital experiences, Ryan brings a careful eye and a belief that design should not only function—but feel. His illustrations have appeared in The New York Times and The Economist. In addition to client work, Ryan often creates his own art and design studies, exploring the tension between simplicity and complexity, structure and fluidity, logic and intuition.
